Cover can be provided for actual or impending damage caused by an inherent defect in the machinery or plant that existed prior to practical completion of a building.
Cover is available for up to 12 years following practical completion and can be arrange separately or as an extension to a structural latent defects insurance policy.
The policy covers mechanical and electrical services plant, which we define as –
- Space heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems including boilers and calorifiers
- Lifts and escalators
- Window cleaning equipment
- Machinery and equipment used for building security and environmental control
- Electrical and mechanical parts of water pumping, pressurisation and distribution systems
- Electrical distribution systems
