• Cover can be provided for actual or impending damage caused by an inherent defect in the machinery or plant that existed prior to practical completion of a building.
• Cover is available for up to 12 years following practical completion and can be arranged separately or as an extension to a structural Latent Defects Insurance policy.

The policy covers mechanical and electrical services plant, which is defined as:

• Space heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems including boilers and calorifiers
• Lifts and escalators
• Window cleaning equipment
• Machinery and equipment used for building security and environmental control
• Electrical and mechanical parts of water pumping, pressurisation and distribution systems
• Electrical distribution systems
